Kamdara block is situated at about 80 KM South-east from district   headquarter,  Gumla. It is surrounded by Simdega District Block at its East, Basia Block at the west, Ranchi District at the North and Bano Block  (Simdega District) at its south. This block is tribes dominated. Agriculture is the chief occupation of the villagers. Farmers depend on Monsoon for irrigation. So only KHARIF crops are cultivated. Banpur  Shiv  Temple , which has importance for a devotee is situated at Rerwa Panchayat at 11 KM from block headquarter.  Lord Shiva Temple of Amtoli is situated at the Sarita . Panchayat is 10 KM from Kamdara.
